Getting passengers through all the different processes required by air travel can be a difficult and arduous task. With the construction and launch of high-speed trains across the European Union, airlines are facing stiff competition in covering short-distance routes. From the moment a passenger parks a car or steps out of a taxi or train at the terminal, to the moment he or she greets that same passenger at the boarding gate, that person will lose many hours of precious time along the way. Flights to and from the United States may require a person to be at the airport 4 hours before the scheduled departure time. In the following paragraphs, I will try to expose improved systems to facilitate passenger processing. The main key facilities required by any successful airport are customer parking, an excellent public transport system, large and airy terminals, a dedicated ground forces staff, clear signage, convenient and prepared security screening lanes and a sufficient number of starting gates to process the large amount of season tickets as quickly and professionally as possible. The sizes of car parks and terminal buildings are extremely relative and it is not possible to recommend a general or average size as it depends on factors such as the number of planned passes, location, size and type of aircraft, etc. Since the launch of self-check-in, the process has been dramatically faster and now allows millions of passengers to simply check-in from the comfort of their laptop or desktop, choose their seat and go straight to security. Security checks are still the main attraction procedure for many passengers. When you board a train, the doors usually close 2 minutes before the departure time. Traveling by bus...... middle of paper ......an airport can be considered a huge step forward when it comes to quickly moving passengers through ground facilities, both before and after the flight.Works CitedCompany Watch.
