If we converted to alternative energy, we would eliminate the need to produce more energy the old fashioned way and keep fewer contaminants in the air. Today, alternative energy can be used by an electric car instead of a standard car. By using the electric car, there would be no emissions into the atmosphere that would harm the environment and others in the area. Fossil fuels will run out sooner or later, unlike water and solar energy. There is not an infinite supply of fossil fuels and that is why more and more people should start converting to alternative energy. What would happen if one day a person ran out of gas and saw that the nearest gas station was out of fuel? You wouldn't have this problem if you used an alternative energy source that never runs out. People may take fossil fuels for granted now, but they will struggle when they see they can no longer get fuel for their car. I believe that renewable energy sources should replace fossil fuels because they are abundant and environmentally friendly. Our future depends on moving away from fossil fuels and relying more on alternative energy. If something isn't changed soon, the world will face an epidemic due to the amount of CO2 emissions in the air. “We cannot afford to wait any longer to build a clean energy economy with wind and solar that is safe and does not threaten our climate future” (Brune). Waiting will only make problems worse for future generations of children.
