Throughout history, there have been many different aspects that have been examined in all cultural ways. Many researchers have studied the history and lifestyle of different societies and particular cultural norms. This information is collected from the media, whether through the Internet, newspapers, television or simply history books as educational informants. While these are the most common bases for general societal knowledge, in reality inner truth occurs within the inner realms of a particular society. We Americans sometimes fund the ways in which many of these cultures do different, strange, or crazy things. They serve for us to look deeper into these different aspects, but sometimes many of us simply choose to believe the opposite, the truth that is tainted and not rooted in history. One such misunderstood culture is the Hindu culture. Americans may not see things in our culture the way others in their private communities see them. In our society, women are starting to have respect for the things they do and are looked at the same way as men, in various occupations. In Hindu culture this is exactly the opposite: their society views women in the same way that any other society would view those in the lower social aspects. This repressive and ferocious vision has had a great impact on their society, both economically and politically. Women in this culture are considered something great, according to their cultural and religious beliefs. This aspect of Hindu society is the only one that has given merit to the respect and value of women, when compared to the status of women in other societies. Although women are highly valued by the gods, they are viewed by a society with a caste system. India, like any other society, is divided into different classes. The division of classes is marked by wealth and productive industries. The adjacent part of the society is governed by a higher authority. Women are a large part of this particular society. They are subjected to agriculture and exploitation by the men who govern them. Women in these particular communities have many duties that come with being part of that society. “The main duty of a woman is to maintain her Pativrata Dharma. For a woman there is no more important duty than service to her husband. He should worship it every day” (Shivanada, 1963). Women... at the center of the card... entirely socialized and limited to their family community. It took tremendous effort to ignite, because they have come a long way from the beginning, hoping to see a just ending. As American women in a Westernized culture, we sometimes take the freedom we take for granted, not realizing that there are women out there who have to fight for the things they want in life. True, we choose to go out and get an education, but sometimes we should stop and think about what things would be like if we couldn't even try to get an education. Education is given in abundance, there are equal opportunities in exchange for self-improvement, to think that all these rights can be taken away, not only paints a painful life but gives a glimpse into the lives of Hind women who had to endure such mistreatment . Hindu women have lived under the incubation of powerful men, who have no regard for their equality, nor for their intelligence and capabilities. These women have not only achieved a dream, but they have economically, politically and socially broken the barrier and stereotype that they may be worthless. They took this initiative and turned it into something great.
