I decided to research the most common psychological problems of police officers and also asked whether being a police officer increases the chances of depression, suicide, alcohol abuse and marital problems. I have found that working in law enforcement can cause many of these psychological problems. The main reasons for these psychological effects arise from traumatic events. Depending on where the officer works, there may be more psychological problems than in other places.
