Juvenile delinquents should be tried as adults for their heinous crimes. For a number of reasons. First, children between the ages of 12 and 17 are perfectly capable of understanding the criminal acts they commit and are fully aware of what they are looking for. Furthermore, these offenders, if not tried as adults, could be let go and left free to pursue other crimes if not aided in appropriate ways. Furthermore, these young criminals have not fully developed their moral skills, which causes these criminals to grow up with the morals they started with, which can only be corrected by taking time and keeping them in cells, away from innocent civilians. Although there have been rare occasions where the defendant has been sent to rehabilitation centers to improve these behaviors, further research is needed to put this counterclaim to rest. Therefore, there is no place for young criminals to roam people's safe homes with their horrific criminal acts, and therefore they must be tried as adults and take full responsibility for their actions. Juvenile justice is a case that is frequently fought in court due to the fact that juveniles are tried as adults. In the case of Chancy Luna, Edwards James and Michael Jones, three teenagers ruthlessly killed the Australian baseball player, Christopher Lane, by shooting him in the back with a .22 caliber revolver. These three teenagers have no rights in court. Heinous crimes like these are the ones that should be given no mercy when sentencing them to life imprisonment. A New York Daily News article stated, "In the days after the murder, Duncan Police Chief Dan Ford said the older boy told investigators the three were 'bored' and had decided to kill someone for the "fun"." The evidence reveals that these three... middle of paper... are tormented by a problem that also has to do with parents, because it is their job to ensure that their son or daughter always feels comfortable with their environment. It really falls on the parents when their child does something so heinous, but no matter what the crime is committed and it should always be set in stone that no teenager can get away with committing murder. In conclusion, blameworthy adolescents should be fully responsible for their actions and be tried as adults. This will serve our country and others for the better and will prevent future criminal acts by these criminals. There have been several occasions where young teenagers have committed crimes as adults and been released, it's time for them to start being tried as adults and receive the sentences they require. No teenager should be left free to have another chance to commit another crime.
