We sent him many first-rate places, where many famous people gave testimonies, and took him to talk to many legendary people, but these special places and people they could never solve his problem. It always seemed like a repetition of the same things. Most would use card stacking and the propaganda from the rehab centers told us, “He needs more help than we can give him.” Some places or people he went to said this phrase using common and simple people, but most said it in a demanding way. They believed he used and drank so much that they thought he would never live to reach his 30s. Hearing this news and learning that no one is helping us, we took it upon ourselves to motivate him to stop. We decided to create a PowerPoint that used a logical appeal to help him understand the number of people who were at the stage he is in and were able to quit, but would simply use a red herring to steer us away. As a last resort, my parents and I thought that if we used emotional appeal and spoke to him from the bottom of our hearts, he would listen and change. We were right!
