The definition of psychological abuse is characterized by another person subjecting or exposing another person to behaviors that may result in trauma. This usually occurs when there is an imbalance of power which is exactly what happens in the Iliad. Men, just like I said in the previous statement, think they hold the power. So in their minds, to keep power on their side, they have to treat women as if they were property. Women have no say in anything, women just have to listen and obey and not ask questions. If they do so they will be severely punished physically. Men aren't just hurting women psychologically, oh no, they have to hurt them physically to get their attention. There are many examples in this epic poem that show men picking on women. Now men have a lot of power over women, but I don't think they have all the power. Women are what men fight for, so women know how to manipulate men to get exactly what they want. Women are smart to let men “think” they have all the power in the relationship. So both sides are playing psychologically
