Mostly all the characters were as I imagined them from the novel, especially George and Lennie. The actors played very convincing roles and I thought the casting was excellent. Another thing the film did very well was setting the scene and quickly telling the backstories of the characters. In addition to the backstory there was also some very clever foreshadowing. After the incident with Weed, George and Lennie escaped in the back of an empty boxcar on a moving train. And at the end of the film, after killing Lennie, George is seen leaving in an empty boxcar on a moving train. This is a very clever technique used by the author to attract the audience
