Violence is evident in society and exposure to the media contributes heavily to the overt aggression seen today. The TV show Law and Order: Special Victim Unit is one of my favorite shows. In one episode there was an African American woman in her twenties who was found raped and strangled to death. His body was left in Central Park. The victim was in law school and excelled in all of her classes. Through investigation, detectives determined that one of his professors who taught criminology had previously been convicted of raping and strangling a woman thirty years earlier. The African-American professor, in his forties, declared that he had not raped or killed the victim, that he loved her and that they would get married. He had an alibi the night she died, he and a mutual friend, a former drug addict, visited the victim. After the visit, the professor accompanied the mutual friend to a motel. When they left the victim's house, she was alive. The detective tried to validate the professor's alibi but was unable to find the mutual friend. The evidence against the professor was und...
