A debate on the American healthcare crisis: comparing the universal healthcare system (a Canadian system) and the US HMO (with emphasis on costs). Every single life on the surface of planet this earth has an equal right to exist. The life of a wealthy American should be no more worthy of the right to exist than that of a poor American. Nor should the life of a bishop be more important than that of a Muslim child. All life is sacred and equal. Without a healthy citizenry, no nation could fight hard enough to reclaim its freedom or to maintain the freedom already won. It is in this context that I declare that the right to affordable healthcare is as sacred as the right to freedom, if not more so! President Barack Hussein Obama promised affordable health care for all Americans during his run for president. His promise to solve the health crisis, among other things, propelled his historic candidacy for the White House. The debate on the health crisis did not die down after the election of President Obama. If nothing else, the issue has increased in the media recently. As we enter the fray of political discourse to find a solution to our health crisis, it will be relevant to compare the health systems of two developed countries that share many similarities in their geography, their culture and their economic position in the world. In comparing and contrasting the American and Canadian healthcare systems, I will explore the political ideologies involved, the historical context of the two systems, the performance of the two systems with respect to which nation is healthier as a result of their adoption. system, and which country is conservative in the theoretical context of the two systems, the performance of the two systems with respect to which nation is healthier as a result of their adopted system and which country is conservative in their approach to costs, ways to reduce costs healthcare in America and, finally, I will recommend, based on my analysis, which system in my opinion would be best suited to the ideal American healthcare solution.
