When we're young we don't really know who we are, but as we get older we start to evolve into who we want to be. Many of us spend a lot of time trying to figure out who we are as individuals and where our places are in the world. As I grew up I started to understand who I am. I've created my own identity and it definitely needs more discovery, but I've come very far. Luckily for me, I'm very open to new ideas and new ways of thinking, I'm very passionate about certain issues. I also love what I do and this helps me discover more about myself. I have always been extremely loyal to my loved ones and, above all, I am very motivated to complete a task because I love seeing a finished product. When I was younger it was important for me to help my friends and family. I always want to be in the middle of a conflict, helping to resolve it and facilitating communication. Many people ask me: "Who are you?" I am a hardworking student who has a goal to achieve. My goal is to become a clinical social worker. I've had this goal since I was in high school. The reason why I want to become a social worker is to ensure the personal well-being of the individual, help prevent crises and counsel individuals, help couples, families and communities. My environment helped shape me into the young woman I have become. The atmosphere of my home is why I have the characteristics I have. My initial understanding of the world comes from my parents. As I grew up I created my own opinions and understandings of things. People often misunderstand me when they first meet me. They assume things about me based on my appearance that aren't true. Some assumptions are that I'm wild or a party girl and that I'm not the c...... middle of paper...... every day. I saw children, adults and animals dying of hunger. I have seen how difficult it is for families to have to work together to move forward. My mother's gypsy soul has moved into me, so now I have a constant desire to see how others live and how they struggle - financially, academically, and personally. Bottom line, our culture seems to value material objects over good deeds, beauty over intelligence, and superficial actions over meaningful outcomes. Luckily for me my morals and beliefs were instilled in me from a young age. My environment helped me choose which field of work I want to work in. An individual who wants to become a licensed social worker must understand how abandonment changes a person, abuse hardens an individual, suffering destroys a person's inner peace, indifference and injustice. disturbs a person; then he or she can become a social worker.
