The Holocaust was the mass murder of approximately six million Jews during World War II. Hostility or discrimination against Jews as a religious, ethnic or racial group is known as anti-Semitism. Anti-Semitism was a centuries-old phenomenon. Jews in Europe have always been a minority. In some countries, Jews could not own land, attend school, or practice certain professions. The Holocaust, which occurred between 1933 and 1945, is the most extreme example of anti-Semitism in history. A German journalist named Wilhelm Marr coined the term anti-Semitism in 1879. Which symbolized hatred of Jews, and also hatred of a variety of advanced, Catholic, and international political trends of the 18th and 19th centuries that were often conflated with Jews . The trend under attack included equal civil rights, required equality, free trade, ownership, accountless enterprise, and self-restraint from violence. Among the most casual definitions of anti-Semitism throughout history have been pogroms. Pogroms were violent riots against Jews and many times supported by government authorities. Pogroms were often encouraged by blood libels, or false rumors that Jews were using the blood of Christian children for ritual purposes. In the modern era, anti-Semites have added a political quality to their hateful ideas. In the last third of the 19th century, anti-Semitic political groups formed in France, Germany and Austria. Advertisements such as the Protocols of the Elders of Zion developed or supported false theories of a global Jewish conspiracy. A compelling part of political anti-Semitism was nationalism, whose proponents often falsely accused Jews of being disloyal citizens. The Nazi Party, which was founded in 19......middle of paper......d to bring Europe to ruin economically and politically and make it subject to Jewish control. Even today, anti-Semitism is present in this world. A March 2008 report by the US department found that there was a rise in Semitism around the world. A survey conducted showed that 1 in 4 adults has a profound anti-Semitic attitude. Antisemitism will last forever. I don't think there will be a stop. Antisemitism is just like when southern states didn't accept African Americans in the past. Even today, some people have feelings towards people of different religion or culture. If it has been going on for many years, it will go on for the next few years to come. No matter how beautiful the world may be, there will always be evil. Antisemitism is still out there, as is racism and so much more. Maybe one day everyone will accept themselves for who they are.
