As a result, software developed by and for artists is emerging while a new category of software and software-dependent artistic projects are growing in number, attracting attention of software developers and artists. Often in these projects, software engineers must work together with artists to support them with software engineering methods, tools and technologies. But collaboration between artists and software engineers is not always easy because they come from two very different disciplines. So a knowledge base at the intersection of software engineering and art is beneficial to both artists and software engineers. From a software engineering perspective, the scope of software engineering can be extended by considering the software-dependent artwork as a system. In this way, software engineering problems can be identified in the development, maintenance and updating of software-dependent works of art.
