Simple rules create more value, eliminate additional costs, leverage cutting-edge ideas and practices, break cyclical complications, help companies grow, create lasting value, gain competitive advantage, they offer practical and quick-implementation points (“Highlights from a new book”, 2016). As a Risk Manager of a medium-sized Trauma II facility, simplicity is imperative and necessary to manage the many responsibilities and tasks required by administration, company policies, government rules and regulations, and the ability to provide patient care of high quality and improve patient safety initiatives. It has been an ongoing cultural shift to simplify the functioning of my organization, but with the continued encouragement, autonomy, cooperation and support provided to department directors and managers, simplicity will result in a more successful and less complicated organizational environment ( Janney, 2014 ). Why Employees Resist Change According to Jaramillo, Mulki, Onyemah, and Martha (2012), there are many reasons why employees resist change, including fear of ambiguity, possible loss of control, and fear of not being able able to meet expectations. As a leader, in order to remove employees' fear of ambiguity and improve cooperation, necessary interventions include better communication regarding the purpose of the change and incorporating staff involvement in the implementation process,
