I am inspired to learn general anatomy, histology, pathology, and the list goes on. However, I am more fascinated by how the knowledge I will gain in medical school will enable me to perform the amazing life-saving procedures that doctors are capable of performing. Although medicine is not always ideally as I wrote, now as a doctor I would use my knowledge and experiences to provide the best holistic care to my patients. My culture, experiences and education will bring a different perspective to the medical field. I aspire to have the ability and knowledge to save a child who may not live, to save a woman suffering from a stroke, and even to provide needed care to a child with a simple cold. Additionally, by participating in the Loma Linda Gateway to the Health Professions program the summer before starting college, I was able to further solidify my passion for medicine. During the program I got to know different healthcare professions. I spoke with several doctors, such as cardiothoracic surgeons, family doctors and urologists. Their advice and their vision of medicine lights the fire inside me. As I heard them say their words they echoed in my head. From that moment on I knew that I wanted to make the change that those doctors made possible
