Topic > The six life skills I learned from sports according to Kristi Dosh

In addition to the health benefits, athletics teaches many important life skills. Time management, responsibility and teamwork skills are the first of many that student athletes will learn. High school athletics also offer underprivileged students the opportunity to receive a higher education, and therefore a better job, through athletic scholarships. While scholarships do not cover all of your college costs, they will be able to cover a large portion of them. Students who participate in sports also achieve better GPAs that they would not have been able to achieve before due to high school athletics requirements of certain GPAs in order to remain on the team. With all these reasons to continue funding athletics, why would people want to stop funding?
