In the United Kingdom there are four countries, England, Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland, the capital of Scotland is Edinburgh, The capital of Wales is Cardiff, The capital of Northern Ireland is Belfast and the capital of England is London. Everyone considers London to be the capital of the entire United Kingdom.
