The Baroque Era of Music lasted approximately from 1600 to 1750 AD. It falls within the period of common practice and was the most predominant writing style after the Renaissance period and before the Classical period (the classical period uses many elements of the baroque period). The word Baroque means highly decorated and essentially gives us an idea of what the music of the time was like. Many pieces in the Baroque style have three or four different parts that work together to produce a melodic melody that modulates on the relevant keys.
