Both sought to prevent blacks from achieving the same things as whites because we are considered beneath them. The original "Jim Crow Laws" were actually legal at the time and justified in one way, I guess, because it was legal but it wasn't fair at all. The “New Jim Crow Laws” are not really legal or illegal, they are just a way to keep the original laws from no longer being allowed. America is set up where no one except white people is supposed to make it and if you are lucky enough to make it you are still controlled by white people because they have the real power.
