Why should I read?“Reading a book is like rewriting it for yourself... In a novel you bring all your experience of the world, whatever you read. You bring your own story and read it on your own terms. "Angela Carter (1940–1992), British author. Why read? Why should I read the book before it comes out in the cinema? Why is it better to settle down with a good book than sit on the sofa watching Simpsons reruns? I have often pondered the merits of reading, but you don't realize the benefits until you actually start reading. Until I opened my very first book I couldn't have dreamed of the wonders and wonders that open up to you exquisite pleasures of reading. Books can transport you to different places, worlds, times, people, wherever you can imagine without leaving your room. Reading gives us a place to go when we have to stay where we are it's like taking over a world waiting to be explored. Whether it's fiction or reality, they can take you away with them, swallow you up and make you part of their environment. They can scare you to death, make you cry, make you laugh, the more pages you read , the more difficult it is to close the book. Each book is a great adventure. Within the pages you will find untold stories, places never before ventured and new people to meet. No book is the same, no story is the same. Reading isn't strange. It seems like a lot of people don't want to read or don't think it's necessary. They believe that people who read are “nerds,” “geeks,” or “bookworms.” This is not true. I read it because it is something that makes time pass peacefully and alleviates ignorance. Reading for fun is normal; enhance a person's imagination... middle of paper... get involved with that. Novels are great space fillers in my suitcase whenever I go on vacation. There's nothing like sitting on a beach with the sun shining on you reading the adventures of Moby Dick, although perhaps Jaws wouldn't be suitable if you're planning on going swimming.
