Life in medical school was exhilarating. During the first years of medical school, learning physiology and pathophysiology proved to be an obsession. In medical school I earned three silver medals in basic sciences and a bronze medal in pediatrics. When I was placed on the pediatric clinical rotation, I found it challenging as it is the doctor's clinical skills and discernment that play a vital role in diagnosis, treatment and prevention. Furthermore, my interest turned to neonatology when I worked as a volunteer in a cerebral palsy center and realized its prevalence in premature babies. I wanted to work to decrease the incidence since there is no cure. I cannot describe in words the agony I saw in the eyes of a parent of a person with cerebral palsy and his helplessness. One of my top priorities was to establish rapport with patients, to enlighten them about the basic facts of health and the fact that everything in the human body is in a dynamic relationship. Medicine is a constantly advancing field with a scope for clinical science and basic research. The United States is where the best medical research takes place, putting advances into practice. This led me to choose the United States as a future destination to continue my post-graduation journey. For the United States
