Topic > My Experience While Taking Online Courses - 550

In recent years, technology has advanced and provides us with the opportunity to hold online classes. While this is not an easy decision, it is another way to study when you need to work. At university level, attending classes is important, but with new technologies, taking classes online is easier than it seems. Regardless of whether technology is a great help, you need to have certain skills to be successful in online courses. Communication can be one of the most vital skills you need, leaving no one else less important. First of all, you as a high school student are used to having other subjects, easier jobs, and less responsibilities. At university you have to be more responsible and know the deadlines perfectly, when taking an online course is the same thing; you must submit your work before the due date without excuses. Any teacher will tolerate or accept any work submitted after the due date. Although accountability is one of the hardest skills to acquire, it is one of the most important skills you need to possess when taking courses online and in life. In my opinion, communication is the most important skill for online courses. Having good communication with your teachers can be difficult because they are only available for one hour on different days. While writing is a good way to communicate, it is not the best way because you as a student might see something or ask something and the teacher might see something else. Having good writing will help you communicate better with any other person, be it a classmate or a teacher. Likewise, patience is an important skill you need to develop. In online courses you study almost alone and patience is important in courses such as mathematics, where you have to interpret even serious problems and operations. Having patience isn't the only skill you need to upgrade. Skills like being organized and being good at planning will help you if you are not patient. These two skills would help you because organizing your work before the deadline would help you if you don't understand the lesson. Having more time would help you see better without losing patience. While organization is important, planning is how you organize most of your work. Planning your day will help you have free time and have some distractions when you are stressed during class.
