Civil Rights MovementOf all the movements in history, the Civil Rights Movement would have the most powerful and moving argument. This is the most convincing and moving movement of all because people's lives were at stake. This movement is a specific leader because it was an event in history that had a dramatic change in the world and what made it the way it is today. Additionally, the civil rights movement is event specific because of the events that took place during this movement. Some of the areas that were reformed were equal rights between blacks and whites. This movement should have been powerful at the time it occurred and still powerful today. Without the Civil Rights Movement our country would still live in mutual hatred between blacks and whites. This is the most convincing movement because people's lives were at stake. Many things happened during this movement, including beatings, murders, and even challenges to the Supreme Court and the president; which gave rise to some very famous court cases. This would be more moving than others because some events cost people their lives, reputations, pride, and more, just to fight for something they wanted or loved. For example, one day a woman named Fannie Lou Hamer went to register to vote; after doing so, on her way home she was arrested and beaten until she was exhausted (University). Most people nowadays would be horrified because this woman was beaten for no reason, well no reason in today's world. Additionally, many famous court cases arose during this movement as people began to challenge the justice system; due to the disparity in rights between whites and blacks. Some of these... middle of paper... ways. Therefore, maintaining this powerful movement means moving the United States forward; although it was also difficult to use. In conclusion, the civil rights movement was the most poignant, difficult, and rewarding movement in history. This movement was difficult to implement, people lost their lives and suffered needless abuse; however, and continued to fight for their rights. The Civil Rights Movement was a leader and a specific event in history because of the events that took place during this time and without those events today's society would not be the same at all. The areas affected by the reform were mostly whites fighting against equal rights and mostly blacks fighting for equal rights. While believing that this movement was powerful then and believing that it still is today. Works Cited University, Howard. System of freedom. nd.
