The turbulent history of improving education in Alberta is full of attention to the needs of factories, the importance of Christianity and now innovative new ideas based primarily on students. Throughout this essay, the emphasis on agreement with guidelines for primarily student-focused education will be evident. There are some ideals that education must focus on, especially when thinking about the future. This essay will promote certain goals in dealing with education and the best interest of students. Throughout this document we will focus on some questions. Some possible questions are: can we help children to be updated and informed about future technologies, how can we guide students towards an easy transition into adulthood? The world around us is constantly evolving and we must change with it. Do we provide the framework in which these students have the ability to adapt to changes? The foundation for guiding these students through changes may not be fully present in Albertan education. The Inspiring Education Alberta document has three principles, which are appropriate educational objectives to guide the needs of future students. These three principles aim to equip students to be engaged thinkers, ethical citizens, and entrepreneurial spirits. Engaged thinkers will focus on the ability to think critically, use technology to learn, and various other ideas that promote learning. Building strong cooperation skills, open-mindedness and respect will be some of the key aspects to creating an ethical citizen. An entrepreneurial spirit will be able to challenge the status quo and be adaptable in numerous circumstances. These goals are important for the education of future students.
