Additionally, I must include two or more different types of my class work to demonstrate that I have achieved four course outcomes. For the portfolio, I decide to choose a summary and response document and FA1 to demonstrate that I have achieved the objective of the course. The process of composing a summary and response document was quite frustrating. First I had to read the guide. This process achieved the first result, namely the reading of texts of different genres. I achieved this because in English 20M I read many different texts such as articles, textbooks or guides. The guide was one of the text genres on which the composition of the summary and response documents was concentrated. To write each article, I had to read several guides covering different types of writing from different specializations. Learning to read guides helped me write my summary and response papers. After reading the guide, I would begin to identify the writing requirements of my paper. There were several writing rules I had to apply. The summary and response document was a single-spaced document; it could be one or two pages. The requirements were that half of the document should be a summary of the guide and the other part should be my response to the information.
