Introduction: The conflict between Ukraine and Russia is Ukraine's longest and deadliest crisis; since its post-Soviet independence began as a protest against the government abandoning plans to forge closer trade ties with the European Union. The conflict between Russia and Ukraine stems from more than two decades of weak governance, the government's inability to promote coherent executive branch policy, an economy dominated by oligarchs and riddled with corruption, a strong dependence on Russia and clear differences between the population of Ukraine and that of Ukraine. both Eastern and Western regions in terms of linguistics, religion and ethnicity (Lucas 2009). Furthermore, Ukraine and Russia have always shared a history; as both states are the embodiment of the transformation process that arose from the collapse of the Soviet Union in 1991 and the end of the Cold War. Ukraine's material heritage is demographically and territorially close to Russia, thus tying Ukraine to Russia. Current Situation: Globalization: Globalization is defined as “the historical process involving a fundamental change or transformation in the spatial scale of human social organization that connects distant communities and expands the scope of power relations across regions and continents (Baylis, 2014). “Globalisation has affected the role of the state immensely; as the process of current challenges to state sovereignty and autonomy. Although borders become increasingly undefined and fluid as a result of the globalization process (Weiss 2000, 2-3).
