Nicotine is a natural organic compound, called an alkaloid, found in the leaves of Nicotiana tabacum and is known to be one of the most addictive alkaloids next to morphine. Nicotiana tabacum belongs to the Solanaceae family, to the Nicotiana genus and N. tabacum species.
