Topic > Late American Immigration - 907

The only thing that has changed is that immigrants are discriminated against. Between the end of the 19th century and the beginning of the 20th century, the immigrants most discriminated against were Chinese, Italians and blacks. These groups were not only discriminated against because of their different ethnicities, but because the American people considered them a threat. They felt that their American way of life was threatened and were afraid that these immigrants would take their jobs or earn more than them. Today immigrants are the most discriminated against; I think I'm the Mexicans. Mexicans are discriminated against because of the fear that unemployment will increase among those who have the least and suffer the most from the economic recession, that these immigrants will be more willing to take unwanted jobs, and that even those who were previously unwanted will now become an asset precious.
