There are some people in favor of jury invalidation who believe that the jury should be given the privilege of preventing the administration from implementing illegal laws. They also believe that some automatic penalties for certain violations are overly cruel and that this right to invalidate would prevent injustice. There are some people opposed to jury invalidation who believe that enlightening legal hearers of this force will lead them to totally ignore the law and choose the defendant's guilt in light of feelings. They are confident that the incapacitation force would allow too many dangerous offenders to go free without it
